Our holiday home in Edinburgh is a centrally located one-bedroom apartment on the second floor of an architecturally significant building (B-listed). Situated on Forrest Hill off George IV Bridge, close to the historic Royal Mile in the centre of Scotland's beautiful capital city (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the apartment is within easy walking distance of the major tourist attractions, festival venues, shops, nightlife and transport connections. The apartment sleeps two people and can comfortably sleep another 1-2 guests on request on a sofa bed in the living room. Gas, electricity, local taxes and use of linen and towels are included in the price. The apartment is an ideal base for a short city break in Edinburgh or for a longer holiday if you want to explore further afield.

    What's the apartment like?

The homely living room has a peaceful outlook (see picture above). There is a fireplace and a comfortable dining area for those occasions when you pass up the temptations of Edinburgh’s exciting restaurant scene. The two-seater sofa converts in to a double sofa bed and there is a comfortable armchair. An attractive rug sets off the polished wooden floors, and a TV (with DVD and CD player) and wee library of books and DVDs complete the home comforts.

Dining area The kitchen has a view out to Greyfriars Church, as does the living room

The modern kitchen is well provided with crockery, cutlery, glasses and kitchenware, as well as a washing machine, fridge-freezer, cooker and microwave.

The double bedroom, a quiet room overlooking the church, has wall-to-wall carpeting and is well furnished.

    Bedroom

The shower-room is tiled and has a wash-hand basin, toilet and standard-size power shower (no bathtub).
